So far, hybrid cars have proven to be reliable and efficient in all areas...the inline 4 cylinder is powerful for this suv and will get you decent gas mileage as well...others to look at would be the highlander hybrid or the prius hybrid...at this point though, the extra cost of a hybrid barely outweighs the cost of gas which is saves you...so buying these will not save you much money yet...it is better for environment at this point and are dependable vehicles....even the "fix or repair daily" ford has shown reliability so far...nice luck to you
