Cold feed pipe for my ford fiesta xr2i?

Hi all my car is a ford fiesta xr2i 16v mk3 ive bought a pipercross induction kit but my friend said i wont get the best perforbloke ce from it if i dont fir a cold air feed pipe or summin but we dont know how to fit them . could anybody explain how to fit these and were exactly they connect to. its meant to give cold air to the filter but i dont understand how it can if its replacing my old pipe from the efi bloke ifold __confused any advice plz :)? thanks jazbo . erm if i wanted to fit the cold air feed pipe can i put the open air side in my front bumper so the air will flow straight through.. but im confused what i do with the other side how do i connect it to my induction kit? obviously ill have to make a hole in my bumper as there isnt one at present.. and will i have to make a hole on my pipercross air filter or do i make a hole in the pipe before the pipercross air filter??srry if ive confused yall here lol :)

Your induction kit should help performan ce some. yes, directing cold air to the air filter will improve things - as opposed to it picking up air already warmed by the hot engine. most kits shield the air filter from the warm air and direct cold air towards it - you could probably make something to do this with some aluminum flashing and duct tape - build a 3 sided box around the air filter with the opening towards fresh air intake. after you get the desired effect then remake it out of heavier aluminum or fiberglass.
