Are there any downsides to using the 85% ethynol in a 1990 ford tempo? if so, how is it possible to make ethynol at home?

A 1990 tempo is not a flex fuel car.
it will only run on up to 10% mix.
ethanol is corrosive. unless your car is designed for it
and carries "flex fuel" rating.
