As the basis for my motor home. it has a 414 v-10 and automatic tranny. there is a button in the end of the shifter knob. what the heck is it? does it engage the od, or what?

Well like the first guy said it turns on / off the od its a ground switch and it also flashes when there is a transmission code.when it starts flashing it could be electrical malfunction or gear selector switch out of range so it has bloke
y functions.hope its not flashing.
