Help my 1989 ford econoline van has problem !?

Hello , i have been helped here in the past and have been some help to those that have had questions to be anserd. so here my problem , the other day i was driveing my van and no matter how much i put the peadle to the floor she did not want to go , so i turned it off let it sit and got her going , i then drove her to a local repair shop , they put her on a machine and it gave them a code #53 they in retunend changend the throttal controal cencer , but i got her back and her check engine light is still on , i dissconceted the battery for a minute to try to reset e thing , but again the light is still on , and she now is ideling high. can some give me a clue on to how to correct what is wrong and to let me know if they did the rite thing with that code #53 in witch they got from the engine checking tool they used. thanks ron ! oh it only has 61,000 origeanal miles.

If you are getting a trouble code and the car is idleing high then your car is probably running in closed loop. if the van has electronic spark timing advance then a broken tps sensor will cause the car to stumble upon accelerating because no info is being given to the cpu about throttle position.
