Did somebody else that owns a 92-04 ford get a recall letter??
I have just recieved a letter saying that a part on my ford ranger is likely to cause an underhood fire!
that i need to take it in and untill i do keep it parked away from structures, and it may happen while operating the vehicle or not .
only with models that include cruise control

Yesto see if you have a major problem, open your hood and at the brake master cylinder there is a pressure switch. unplug it and look if the switch is leaking into the wire connection. the problem it will short out the wire and cause a fire. if it is not leaking there is no immediate problem. the pressure switch deactivates the cruise control.this was explained to me by the service tech that fixed mine. if the switch is not leaking all they do is put in a fuse-able link. if the switch is leaking they will have to replace it. it takes longer to do the paper work .
