I am needing to replace the distributor on my "older" 8n ford tractor, but do not know how to begin..

Bunny on the old ford 8n the dist is on the front of the engine block, you need a mirror to see it, follow the spark plug wires down to it, if i remember correctly, it is in with 2 bolts, you can pop the dist cap off, and get to the points, replace the points, condenser, rotor and dist cap, set the point gap correctly, and you should be fine, no real need to replace the whole dist, i am sure it has a bit of play in the shaft, but this is not a fuel dragster, it is a farm tractor, you can find the dist kit at tractor supply, usually someone there can help you find the correct kit, now some of the newer 8n had the dist on the side of the engine, same deal applies, these are easy to fix and work on, just go slow and watch what you do and where it goes, nice luck and have fun
