1995 ford contour possible tranny problems??
?
My 1995 ford contour will not very
move... it runs great but when you put it in gear it wont even pull its self. i
k it to a mechanic and put it on a diagnostics test. these are the codes.. 327-egr signal low, 621-shift sol. 1 ckt, 622-shift sol. 2 ckt., 593-no deff., 652-modulated lockup sol. ckt., 624-elect. pressure ctrl. (epc)ckt., 122-tp or acc pedal pos. signal low, 157-mass airflow low, 327,624,the last four are continuous memory.. now i know some of these codes wont keep it from driving rite but i am
still not sure about the rest. i have
replaced the mass airflow, and removed my cadalatic converter. thinking that was the problem but no luck. so now i think there might be something with the transmition doing this. all imput would be appreciated.. thank you
Answer
Before you go throwing the transmission down a hill, perhaps you should check the engine wiring harness first. that is a lot of transmission codes at once, and that does not usually happen. also with the tp and mass air flow use the same engine harness as the transmision. check the harness around the area over the transmission for missing wiring insulation. this was a recall on the 95 contour for 10 years or 100,000 miles #99m03. the wiring insulation gets brittle and flakes off, a common contour design problem. as for the egr signal low code, check the dpfe sensor.
