Hello, i have ford contour 1997 that needs a transmission. bought it for $2000, and mechanic is giving estimate of $1600 for fixing the car with used transmission. i have about 100000 miles. is it worth to fix it and sell it after a year or junk the car??thanksthe mechanic says he will pay only $100 for the car. so no one will buy the car.

I recommend selling it. sell = lose $1300 junk = lose $2000
