Ford contour-- transmission from a 1998 fit a 2000?
My grandparents got into an accident on christmas day with their 2000 ford contour. i found a 1998 ford contour that just needs a transmission. would the transmission from the 2000 work in the 1998? and what about parts from other years? what years work with the 2000 model. i found another 1997 but not sure if any parts would work with the 2000.. thanks!

No, the 2000 contour is only compatible with some 1999 contours. anything before that is not compatible.if you need more convincing, call a dealership parts department and give them the vin from your vehicle and ask if the parts from a 1998 are compatible.
