2001 ford expedition opinions !?
We are considering buying a 2001 ford expedition eddie bauer edition. it is the one with the bigger engine. we are used to the poorer gas mileage of an suv so thats no big deal. has somebody had any major problems and if so at what mileage did you hav these problems?
Answer
The expeditions are an overall good
reliable vehicle, if maintained properly. the 5.4l sohc v8 is almost bulletproof. as far as fuel consumption is concerned, well if this is an issue, then it begs the question of whether or or not a big suv is a necessity. to the poster above, commenting on egr valves, i will tell you with 100% certainty that egr valves on fords almost never fail. the most common misdiagnosis of any ford product by outside "garages" is replacing egr valves, when it is really the dpfe sensor that fails. as with any large truck, the cost of repairs will be pricey, but this is not
exclusive to ford products only. other than that, overall these are good
trucks. hope this helps.
