I just bought a 1992 ford f150 and have found a problem. it dies on me, at seemingly random intervals. some things i have noticed: it does it when i am backing up, when i crank the steering wheel or when i am sitting in idle for a while. what is up with it and what is the remedy? how much is it gonna cost me to fix it? (if it is something simple, my fella may be able to fix it if i buy the right part, saving us labor costs.)

Change that fuel filter it is probly clogged you will need the fuel line tool..it is in the left inside frame by the front tank..you have to change these filters offten
