Ford f150 odometer goes out?
The digital odometer on my 1999 ford f150 comes on when i start the engine but fades out and will not come back to life after a few minutes of driving. the problem seems to subside in very cold temperatures (we had very few of those days here in s. e. illinois this past winter).can someone offer a suggestion?

this is a
common problem to ford digital 2nd gen clusters.
the problem is usually a bad solder joint. look where the display is soldered to the circuit board in the instrument cluster. i just solder them all to be sure i get any other problems.
it could also be the main integrated chip going bad. i f so, then a new speedometer would be required from dealer or junkyard.
