Consumer rights? i bought a p reg car on wednesday for £695, the garage man said there was no warranty as it was under a certain price, today it has cut out on me 4 times do i have any rights or does anyone know what might be causing it? additional details 6 days ago the garage put it through the mot before they sold it me though 6 days ago its a p reg fiat cinquecento sx 899cc. it just keeps stopping as if its run out of petrol, but it starts again as soon as you start the ignition. i have put coolant in and done an oil change and its got half a tank of petrol in

The mot certificate only ensures that the vehicle passes certain safety standards. the problem could be as simple as a dirty fuel filter or a faulty fuel pump. i would guess it is the filter though. try changing that.
