I am looking to find out if a quote i got for replacing the front main seal on my 91 dodge dynasty is correct. i was told that the job would take about 8 hours and that i only needed to provide the parts (the front main seal) and the mechanic would charge me only $300 for the total job. the mechanic is a friend, but we are leery that he may be cheating us. can somebody provide some additional assistance on this so that i can proceed.

Thats a great deal! changing the front main seal on an engine is a big job, you have to remove the crankshaft.... yeah it will take a nice 8 hours.....$300 is a steal!
