Dodge

I got a 94 dodge shadow v6 auto. the back brakes went so i parked it. when i parked it, it ran great drove great. now a yr later i get it started again want to fix it and start driving. but now when i put it in drive the trans do not grab right way. you put it in drive give it gas rpm go up then a little bumb and it starts to go. fulid is nice and full dont know what to do. should i do a filter change or what any ides would sure help.

Im sure the car itself is fine but when the car sits for that long issues will arise.1st off , when you let it sit that long the sedament will eventually go down to the pan - then when you start the vehicle it will go thru the filter and up inside the valve body and allow the transmission shift soleniods apply the gear you wanted.id do a transmission fuild change with filter and perhaps an overall safety inspection on it. you might have had a small issue when it was walking before but never noticed it and now since you have not driven the car for so long you notice the little problems.nice luck
