I put an engine in my 91 dodge shadow and now it makin a grinding noise where the tranny bolts to the engine when ever i try to turn it over.

You say you put another engine in it. which starter did you use. the one off the old engine or the one off the new engine. they might be slightly different. the starter you are now using is not properly engaging with the ring gear on the flywheel.
