Dodge ram 50 sport repair?
Hi, i bought a 1985 dodge ram 50 sport. the car was very poorly maintained and the oil, coolant, fuel filter, and air filter were all filthy. anyway i replaced all those things but there is a problem. in the morning the car will start up, idle low, spurt out some white smoke, go halfway down the street and stall. i can then start it back up pump the fuel and get off to a very rocky start. eventually the car will run fine. aside from the air pipe assembly attached to the secondary air supply system being rusted through i am not aware of any problems. any idea what it could be or where there might be a forum for these vehicles? thanks very much.
Answer
The white smoke is oil smoke, check your valve stem seals,if they are bad it will smoke till it burns the oil that leaked by when it was sitting.as far as it stalling in the morning check your choke it may need adjusting.
