Have a o5 dodge 3500 truck deisel, it will no longer stay in park, it rolls away like if it was in nultrual, everything else works fine, is this a factory defect

Its still under warranty or it should be ,take it in to have it checked,its either the linkage needs to be adjusted or the cog on the gear has broken,id say its more than likely the linkage cable that has stretched out of place ,either way its not safe though,have it checked it may still be under warranty,and may not cost you nothing,there was defect on some of the cars for doing this and that one may fall under the defect warranty also,nice luck.
