Citroen hdi brake problem?
Hi i have a citroen hdi van i have changed the back brake cylinder and brake pipe ,i have bled it and all i get is loads of air and bits of brake fluid squirting out ,i have bled it in the normal way and yet the pedal is still soft as if nothing is there ,,do i need a new master cylinder ?? as a mate drove it for a month without brake fluid ,,silly i iknow ,,any help will be appriciated

There is a good
chance that you will need a new master cylinder, as the seals tend to dry out and wear out when ran dry. you must make sure that the master cylinder does not run dry while bleeding the brakes! you must bleed all four wheels, as well as the anti-lock unit (if so equipt). start with the wheel the furthest from the master cylinder. if your master cylinder is mounted on the right-hand side, bleed the left rear wheel first, then bleed the right-rear tire. next bleed the front left tire, then the front right tire. do the opposite if the master cylinder is mounted on the left side. lastly, bleed the anti-lock servo unit (if there is a bleed nipple on it). hope this helps!
