Citroen

My citroen saxo has started over the last couple of days to make a squealing noise mostly when i start the car and pulling away at junctions. about 3 weeks before this started the battery light started to come on and now stays on much all the time. i took the car to a kwik fit today and the guy there said it was something to do with electrics and if i get the electrical problem sorted the squealing noise will go. is this correct or what else could be wrong?? blokey help would be great.

Your belts are slipping and the alt is not charging the battery .tighten your belts, or replace them if they are worn ,cracked.
