Can i put a chrysler 318 from a 1987 dodge truck into a 1999 dodge durango and only change intake?

I need some help.

I believe if the bottom end of the durango is your problem you can use the 87 bottom endand reinstall the top end of the 99. you may have a problem with the heads.
