Also had tuneup. was running like a champ. until the other day. it acts like it is not getting fuel. sometimes will putt putt when hitting the accelerator, then kick into gear and drive normally until its time to drive from an idling position again. what could be wrong? timing off? fuel injection? what do you think? cruise control light is on as of a few days ago also the average miles per gallon per the digital reading has gone from about 18mpg to about 9mpg. its burning more fuel than usual. thanks everyone for suggestions. i will leave question open for more ideas but will also take the car to get the diagnostic for the sensor problem tomorrow.

Your description of having the worst problem from idle suggests there might be a tps sensor problem. go ahead and find a dealership or certified repair shop to run the codes from your computer and find out. in very rare cases, a bad o2 sensor can cause similar troubles, so dont be afraid to have that checked out as well. worse case scenario, the engine blokeagement computer is dying, which will cost some pennies..nice luck.
