Would a 1996 pontiac trans am transmission fit into a 1994 chevrolet camaro z28?

In 1996, any vehicle sold in the us went to obd 2 and the wiring doubled from 1995 to 1996. i do not think the tranny in a 1996 trans am will work properly even if it did fit. i would look for a 1994 to 1995 camaro transmission.
