Where is
the oil filter for the 2001 chevrolet malibu (6 cylinder) located?
is it easy to access to change the oil filter?

On a 3.1 v6 engine, the oil filter is located on the front side of the engine
behind the a/c compressor. i would recommend raising the front end off the ground. there may or may not be a plastic covering in the way that is held in place with 2 wing nuts.
for those of you that are saying it is
on the top of the engine, that is for the 2.2 ecotec engine. the 2.2 is a 4 cylinder.
