BMW

Through vin checks i found the engine in the 88 bmw is a 2.7 l6 fi sohc and the 86 bmw is a 3.5 l6 mpi sohc. can you use the smaller engine in the 1986 bmw 535i?

Most likely in a world of people building larger in the engine compartment what makes you want to go smaller thing to consider will it work with the current trans how will you hold the engine in the compartment if i were a novice and doing this i would find a bmw after market person to be a friend to.. anything is possible if you are willing to take time and money to do it . and by the way if you need help go online and type in after market parts call a few of them they will give you lots of info much more than anyone can offer here
