1986 bmw 535i starter removel and replacement?
Any tips / guidelines / suggestions for removing and replacing the starter motor on a 1986 bmw 535i? the starter seems to be tucked up under the fuel injection intake manifold and looks to be a real pain to get to, any suggestions to make the job easier would be much appreciated.

According to the repair guides at autozone.com, you should remove the old one and install the new one.actually they have a few more hints.is the starter on the fritz? they are about twice as hefty as they need to be, which means they rarely fail.see link below.- carld
