Since bmw has taken over mini the mini has became a far more reliable and less expensive car to maintain. the old mini was terrible & poorly made. a aquaitance purchased the last year of the rover mini cooper the 40th annaiversy year and it is literally falling apart.
i would not fear buying a mini from bmw today.
