New jersey vehicle registration help?

I am active duty military and i am currently stationed in new jersey. i was stationed in louisiana for the past two years. both of my cars are registered there. both my wife (who is a civilian) and i have a california drivers license (this is my home of record and where i consider myself a resident of). we have new jersey car insurance. do i have to register my cars here even though we are not residents?
Answer
Actice duty military personnel who have a state other than nj as their legal residence, are not required to register their vehicles in nj. however, you may wish to plate the vehicle in nj while carrying a ca drivers license. (all of us civilians are required to have registrations and d-l only in our state of residence.) always carry your military id, as proof. thank you for your service to our country. god bless you and keep you safe.
