When i travel to the us from new zealand, we go to either dollar, thrifty or alamo, depending on their mini-van specials. we never have to pay for an additional driver. however, they usually must aslo have a credit card unless a spouse. sometimes if you talk good i have seen them waive that requirement at the counter.
