Power & torque?

When im browsing through the car buying guide, is was written-max power, 55/5200 & max torque 88 / 3600, what does it mean?
Answer
It means theres a maximum of 55 horsepower(or kilowatts in metric) at 5500 rpm and maximum torque of 88 ft/lbs (assuming this is imperial, not metric, which it would then be newtonmeters) at 3600 rpm. in basic terms, hp is how fast your car is going to go, while torque is your ability to pull stuff. both are related though. i wont get into specifics and power/acceleration curves and gearing and such.
