How much does it cost to have a new air compressor installed in your car?
I need a new compressor installed in a 1996 chevy tahoe (the old one is cracked) and would
like to know a nice
price for parts and labor so i will have a nice
general point of comparison when i shop around. the answer, however, need not be specific to my car alone. hopefully others will find this usefull as well. thanks!

I had a 1996 suburban and i had a rebuilt one from autozone/advance auto or somewhere like that put in and i think it cost about $150 and the local garage charged me about the same to install so it was about $300 it worked fine for the summer but the next summer it was dead again and the rebuilt was only a 90 day warranty. so, i went with the ac delco oem compressor and through a gm dealer and it was warranted for the life of the compressor and it was around $600
