Car accident transmission problems?

I receantly was involved in a front end collision with my car. the car at the time was un drivable and was repaired by nationwide insurance. after the car was repaired an i drove it home i noticed it was acting strange. i then took it back to the repair shop and they told me that my trnsmision was slipping?nationwide is unwilling to pay for the transmission even though i believe the accident caused the problem? my question is can a front end collision cause damage to the transmission?how do i get the insurance to pay for damage that they refuse to pay for?
Answer
Well yes if it is a frount wheel drive car.the motor is in the car sidewise and the transmission is attached at the side.if it pushed the engine back it can damage the trans.first be shure the trans fluid is full. it could be low.if not then you will have to take it to a mechanic and have him check it out. if he can confurm it was damaged then talk to them again with your proof. if you cant work it out you might have to take leagle action.
