You can get a vinyl repair kit which will do a remarkably good cosmetic job--but backing up the repair is the key to getting a lasting repair. if you sewed in a piece of backing it plus vinyl cement it might hold--depending how much it flexes.but it must also be perfectly flat on the surface. when you have a good base, the repair kit will blend in and texture the repair to make it invisible. if you go to a junkyard, you may be able to get an entire cover--they are held on with hog rings--takes a little study but doable.
