Car Repair

My honda stereo went out all of a sudden and since my car is outside of warranty, the dealership is charging me $400 to repair it! i talked to a mechanic whose had to replace his stereo twice in his 2002 crv. a friend has also had problems with the stereo in her civic on and off for years. i am trying to find out how common this is .. sounds like honda makes bad stereos.

Had several preludes and civics as well as a s2000 no problems. think the dealer is trying to take you for a ride. next time, tell what the symptom(s) or fault is that might help diagnose
