Car Repair

Why is my car battery dying? disconnecting the stereo solved the problem, but i want a car stereo. any ideas?

To clarify my situation, i have a 1997 oldsmobile eighty-eight, with only around 40,000 miles on it. last winter, the car started dying on a daily basis. e morning, i had to jump the battery, and it would be fine for the rest of the day, only to die the next morning. i replaced the battery, but the situation was not resolved, so i had an auto shop disconnect the radio, and the situation was resolved. i have not had the problem since, but i would like to put in another stereo, so i am wondering if anyone knows what the true cause of the problem might be, and how complicated getting it repaired would be. thanks
Answer
Your radio has an internal short causing it to continue to draw power even when turned off and the car is off. replace the radio with an aftermarket unit and it should solve your problems.
