Car Speakers

Help on speaker/amp installation.?

Well im going to buy the following from crutchfield.cominfinity kappa 682.7cf 6"x8" 2-way speakers kenwood kac-6202 60w x 2 car ampthe speakers are 100 watts rms at 2ohms, and the amplifier is 100 watts rms at 2ohms for 2. so they are a perfect fit. well im installing them in the rear of my 2005 mustang. when i install do i have to rewire anything to keep the stock head unit from powering them? or do i go through the amp then to the speakers?
Answer
Honestly i wouldnt put the amp in-your factory or aftermarket radio pushes 50watts x 4 or more-thats max power -your rms is only 20-30 per speaker-so you will get no improvement unless you get at least a 400 watt amp that way you are pushing 100 wattsrms per channel(if its a 2 channel and you wire it to strait 4 ohm load)and thats what your speakers are rated at-always go with rms and name brands-cheap amps might say 1000 wats but usally only push 100-200 rms-hope this helpsi might have gave you the wrong info because it says your amp is rated at 60x2---did you mean a 600 watt 2 channel?? if so you leave your rear speaker wires unhooked from the speakers and tape them up or something so there not touching anything-then wire up your amp like normal and hook it to your rear speakers and put the crossover on full pass-it should sound damn nice-infinitys are real nice on clarity and have a great sound-the amp and speaker combo should be a nice match-i used to have a kenwood 600 on my highs with a ppi 2400 amp and some jl 12s-my car sounded like a concert hall it was awesome-that amp on some highs makes a huge difference-i think youll like it
