Car Speakers

Im replacing my car speakers i plan on installing speakers that are 460w max and 80w nominal do they require the 80w to sound decent.

80 watts nominal simply means that the manufacturer does not recommend providing more than 80 watts into the speakers. even though they may be rated as 460 watts peak, this does not mean they will actually survive if you put 460 watts into them. it simply means that on a test bench, they played 460 watts for a microsecond before they caught fire and blew up.
