Car Speakers

I have a pair of jbl 6x9s that handle 100watts rms each in wooden boxes.im also gonna install amp to them. wondering would they sound better hanging from trunk of car or wooden boxes.

Sound better in the rear shelf with boxes built and insulated underneath them.
