Where is the safest spot for my dog to ride in my car?
I have a small dog who is aout 15 lbs. i want to
know where he should ride in my car. i know my lap is the worst place, but is the front passenger seat a bad choice as well because of the airbag?
i had a basket car seat for him i bought from petsmart, but i am not convinced of its safety. once, i had to slam on my brakes and my pooch flew out and was dangling from the small attachment for his collar.
where should my dog sit? god forbid i get in an accident, i want him to be safe.
Answer
There are basket seats that have a harness system in them that prevent the dog from flying out in an accident. crates are safer than baskets.the back passengers side is considered the safest point in a car with the floor there being the best.you could also consider a dog seatbelt harness that lets him stay in the backseat without the basket.
