Car wont start... but should the radio turn on if its a dead battery?
I have been preparing myself for the eventual replacement of my car battery for a couple of weeks now. this morning i went to start the car, but it
clicked and never turned over, but the radio turned on... if it is indeed a dead battery, would the car radio still turn on?
Answer
The battery is dead. not so dead it cannot
play music, but too dead to turn over an engine. the clicking moise is from your starter not getting enough juice to do its job.
are you sure its the battery, they usually go without warning and the alternator usually goes more gradually??
your local parts store can test both (if you can get the car to their lot) and tell you which is most likely is - if you cannot
get the car there, they can bench test the parts.
ps the last thing i would blame is the starter
