Disconnect lexus es300 car alarm?
Something is going on with my lexus car alarm. during an very
cold winter my car alarm stopped working however it keeps trying to set itself while i am
driving, the flashers go on and off for 10-15 seconds then it stops for a few minutes and continues again. no rhyme or reason for it. i recently replaced the battery which helped but it still happens frequently. any ideas?
Answer
Factory car alarms commonly mess up and cause problems. you can look for a fuse labled "security" or "alarm", however i doubt there will be one. likely, you will have to disconnect the alarm computer from the car. on toyotas, these are often right above the steering colum behind the dash. look online or call the dealership to see were it is located in your es.
