I had a similar problem with a jetta i had, one thing you might want to check is if the exhaust might be plugged. if your car still has a catilytic converter on it, they have
a wire mesh screen in them than can get full of junk. have a friend push on the gas while you have your hand by the air intake. if you can feel air coming out your intake that is
more than likely your problem.
