Hi, i just bought volvo s60 2004 at the end of my lease 12700 miles and now i have a problem with brakes? i just bought volvo s60 2004 at the end of my lease with 12700 miles is like a new car i was told, i have service done one month before a bay to make sure everything is okay because i didn’t want to spend extra money for extended warranty since i drive very little i was told it will last me for long time. but the day of purchase, i was told by volvo dealer to live a car with them to do ny state inspection, they have my car for a couple of days and in that time i was told by dealer that soon i will need new breaks, which it was a surprise for me since i have a service month earlier and they didn’t say anything. i bough a car as it was thinking that dealer want to make some money on me and i though i will go for second opinion. my friend look at them and told me that my breaks and plats look like i had at list 80000 miles on this car, plats look like they have engraved circles in pl plats in all 4 wheels. he thinks that it is impossible to use my brakes to this shape after 12700 miles, so he suggested that dealer switched them for used ones. is this is possible, that i could used my brakes to this condition, or my friend could be right? and what should i do since i paid for a car and have it for a week, i can’t believe in this, but i am a wobloke and this is my first car and i have no idea what to expect, i have heard about dishonest mechanics, but big dealer like volvo would practice business like this? any help will be very, very appreciated
Answer
Did you have the car serviced at the volvo dealer-show them the receipt showing their was no problems. the dealer might replace the brakes for free then. wow they must be hard miles and maybe you use your brakes alot-
