How chould i obtain the imo code for my volkswagen sharan carat vr6(1997) ?
1.ignition failed,engine can not be start,two items needed to be replaced according to the diagnostic result.namely imo control unit and reader coil.2.we are not the authorised vw service dealer so no way for us to obtain the imo code.for your info.,we have the vas 5052 scan tool.

The only way to obtain the codes is on-line with vw on a secure internet connection with the scan tool or if you do not have online services with vw (i know this can be costly) the vehicle will have to go to the dealers to be coded even though your scan tool is able to do this you cannot obtain the codes!
