Have replaced intake manifold gasket did not help dissasembled and checked carb was not dirty ,engine "hunts" for gas then finally slows and quits. please help

Try using a propane torch to look for vacuum leaks. open valve on torch (do not light) point towards carb base and around intake manifold and vacuum lines. if rpms increase you have found a vacuum leak. check for rusted fuel lines also
