Why does latin american look a-lot more like europe?
In my opinion it does, here in mexico we have a-lot of european archituecture, i had not noticed until one time i traveled to the usa and found archituechture in cities modern looking, total opposite from mexico, here there are mdern buildings, but for the most part the streets here look like madrid or paris, as is the case for a-lot other latin american cities like buenos aires, florianopolis, etc... even the culture here is european compared to the usa, for example the food, drinks, how we celebrate special events, and we even say hi to friends with a kiss on each cheeck like in most of europe, something most americans would consider "personal space invasive", and "uncomfortable". even the cars we drive here are mostly european, seat, renault, peugeot, volks wagen. what i dont get is that wyh has america been able to build it is own identity, while in a-lot of latin american countries like mexico, argentina, uruguay, we still practice european costumes?
