What makes a winter tire studdable or studless?
I am looking for snow tires for a pontiac grand am 2003...suggested options are categoried performance winter, studless ice and snow, studdable winter or light truck/suv studless ice and snow. i am not as concerned with cosmetics as i am sliding around ohio all winter on my sport performance tires!

Forget lt truck tires....best bet is aggressive ice and snow,,,, if u look at studded tires..check with police/hyway dept..in some states they are
illegal in some you must remove in spring some states april 1....studs drive bad on dry roads and make god awful noise..try tirerack.com
