Ok right behind the steering wheel where all your warning lights are at, like change oil, service engine, ect off to where your right turn signal is at the bottum right youll see a (low press) light "aka" (low pressure) well i have that on my 2001 grand am gt and it never lights up which im thinking if ti was ever suposed to. does somebody else have this on there grand am gt or is it me? is it for the tires or motor like a loose cap or somthn.
Answer
This light ( low pressure) is for the tires. mine came on in the early fall of last year. the first morning that we had cold weather this low pressure light came on, to let me know that the tire pressure was low. a nice hint is to check your tire pressure at least once a month, the first day of cold weather the will loose pressure due to the cold air. i started to think, "ok, what now". now i will have to go to the dealer to get this stupid light to go off. the first thing i did was stop at a gas station to check my tire pressure, sure enough the tire pressure was low. i looked at the sticker posted just inside the drivers door to check the proper tire inflation, i then put this amount into the tires. i got into my car, started the engine and the light was still on. i was really made at this point thinking that i would have to go to the dealership to get this low pressure light turned off. i drove about a block and the light went out, i guess the computer had to figure out that the tires were nice to go now. i was so relieved that i did not have to go to the dealer, i hate that place. hope this answers your question.
