1988 nissan truck with a damaged fusible link wire that runs from the positive terminal on my battery to harn.
I have a crimp mark around a red fusible link wire that is giving me an intermittent no start. the last time i tried to start it it k about fifteen times to get it to turn over. would i be able to splice that wire together using a twist nut? i am debating whether to donate the truck to the caner society or trade it in. i have loved the truck, but it is almost 19 years old and has a center bearing that is going ( sqealing when under load ) and would need a lot of frame work to replace the bearing ( my mechanic said it would cost $1000 to $1500 to fix the frame to replace the center bearing ) so i am trying to fix the fusible link untill i can make up my mind on what i wanna do. i know using the twist nut to splice the wire would be a temporary fix, but i would like to do it myself and not put more money into it if i am going to sell it soon. my truck is a 1988 nissan king cab se 4x4 v-6.
